Yearbook Committee Is Working Hard and Having a Blast

October 12, 2022

The CDH Yearbook Committee is off to a great start this year! They have one returning student, Sophie Nemo '23, and 13 other senior girls on the committee, which is lead by teachers Nick Giles '03 and Brock Beithon

Every student has a role on the committee. They have one editor, nine designers and journalists, three photographers, and one social media expert.

Since Sophie Nemo is the only returning student, her role as editor involves passing on what she learned last year. "I am constantly learning. Right now, since I am the only returning student, I'm learning how to teach my other classmates how to design pages, properly quote things, and come up with clever headlines. Overall I am having a blast!"

With so many new students, there is a large learning curve for the class, but according to Mr. Giles, they are picking it up quickly. He is very impressed with this group of students. "I like the fact that our entire class is full of high achievers, and it will show in the fantastic yearbook product we will produce. We are approaching our first deadline in a couple weeks, and that is the time of year when the stress levels rise, but I have faith that the girls in class will rise above even higher."

Their creativity goes beyond the yearbook. Last year, they started working on making the classroom more inviting. "We are in the basement and surrounded by concrete walls and it isn't the best looking," said Mr. Giles. "This year, each student is going to claim a concrete brick on the wall and paint her own colorful design."

Sophie couldn't be happier with this year's class and is glad to be working with Mr. Giles and Mr. Beithon, who make such a fun, positive, and safe environment. " Yearbook is something I never knew I needed in my life. I love that I have the space to let my creativity fly on pages and produce something that can be enjoyed for years to come by so many people."

New Ordering/Opt Out Process

The Yearbook Committee has a new automatic process in place to determine yearbook orders and to collect payment. For those students who do not want a yearbook, there is a simple “OPT OUT” option.

For the first time, the Yearbook will be at a lower price than the previous year!  Each student will be billed $83 for the yearbook and will receive their copy next Spring unless they choose to OPT OUT by contacting Lisa Prescott-Williams via email no later than February 1, 2023.

The $83 charge for the yearbook will be due with the February tuition payment. If a student opts out of receiving the yearbook, there will be no charge.

If you have further questions, please contact the Yearbook advisor, Nick Giles.
