CDH Celebrates an All-School Mass to Start the Year
August 31, 2022
"Let's build a house where love is found..."
The Cretin-Derham Hall community celebrated a beautiful and joyful All-School Mass today to start the 2022-2023 school year. Celebrant Fr. Pat Kennedy '71 welcomed students, faculty and staff and invited everyone to participate.
Campus Minister Mark McGuire spoke during the homily on the challenges of giving unconditional love balanced by the beauty of living with the gift of unconditional love. McGuire walked among the students and reminded them of the famous Beatles song, "All You Need is Love." He cautioned his fellow Raiders that while the song's sentiment is very true, it is also true that it is hard to live that way. He challenged each member of the CDH community to live with love, kindness, and forgiveness as we build a community this year with each other and with our dear neighbor.
Fr. Kennedy closed the mass, giving thanks to the many students and faculty who planned the mass and provided beautiful music and readings and more.
CDH worships together as a school each month. Students and faculty/staff are also invited to celebrate daily Mass or prayer in the Blessed Brother James Miller Chapel each morning before school begins.
